Wears Valley United Methodist Church

Wears Valley UMC is a family and community oriented church that invites individuals to be a part of a community of faith as spiritually nurtured by God and then led out into the community and beyond to serve others. Wears Valley UMC has a diverse number of ministry areas with one of the foremost being the ministry of worship. Worship services are held at 8:30 am on Sunday mornings with an informal, casual praise and worship style. A traditional worship service is held at 11 am on Sundays.

There is an active missions ministry in the church which serves people on local, district, state, national and international levels. An annual fall festival is held each year at the church on the second weekend in October for the sake of raising monies for mission endeavors as sponsored by the United Methodist Women.

The church reaches out to people of all ages and backgrounds. We are fortunate to have families who have lived in Wears Valley for many generations, and also have families who have moved to the Valley from other states to retire. The church offers an active seniors program called Young At Heart that meets monthly with fellowship meals and programs.

The church has been involved in the year of 2011 celebrating the 125th anniversary of the present sanctuary. Members of Wears Valley UMC love their community and respective neighbors and invite people to “Come and See” what happens within and beyond the walls of the church when led by the love of Christ. Our theme is: Small enough to care…large enough to serve!
